At Bessie’s, we create award-winning artisan chutneys, jams, and vinegars using time-honoured methods and the finest ingredients. Every batch is made in small quantities using the traditional open-pan method, giving our preserves their distinctive depth of flavour and homemade quality.

We are dedicated to sourcing ingredients responsibly – working closely with British growers and local producers who share our values. From fresh homegrown fruit and vegetables to British cider vinegar and sugar beet sugar, even down to our UK-made jars, every element of Bessie’s preserves reflects our commitment to sustainability and supporting local businesses.

Customer care is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that food should bring people joy, so we go the extra mile to ensure our customers not only love our products but return for more. Listening to feedback is part of our growth – it inspires new creations and helps us stay true to what people love most about Bessie’s.   Our ethos comes from family. The business is inspired by my Nan, Bessie, whose passion for food and love of sharing it was passed down to me. Growing up in Pateley Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales, I have fond memories of sitting by her side, surrounded by the fruits and vegetables from her garden, learning the art of making preserves. That heritage lives on in every jar we make.
