We’re looking for a driven, people-loving Business Development Manager to help grow Fudged, our creative studio, and YorkWorks, our fast-growing local business platform.
This role is all about relationships, momentum, and spotting opportunity before anyone else does. You’ll be out talking to local businesses, building partnerships, closing deals, and helping brilliant brands get seen properly online.
If you enjoy chatting to business owners, hate boring sales scripts, and like the idea of earning commission on top of a solid base salary, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll be doing
Proactively reaching out to local and regional businesses to introduce Fudged and YorkWorks
Selling digital services including websites, branding, marketing support, and directory listings
Growing sponsorships, advertising, and partnerships for YorkWorks
Managing the full sales process from first conversation to signed agreement
Building long-term relationships with clients and partners
Attending local business events, networking meetups, and YorkWorks events
Working closely with the founder and creative team to shape offers and campaigns
Keeping your pipeline organised and your follow-ups tight
What we’re looking for
Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management
Confident communicator who can talk to anyone without sounding like a robot
Self-starter mentality with a strong work ethic
Comfortable working independently and hitting targets
Local knowledge of York or surrounding areas is a big plus
Interest in digital, marketing, design, or tech helps but curiosity matters more
What you’ll get
£27,500 to £30,000 basic salary depending on experience
