Our local authority client has a great opportunity for HGV/LGV drivers.  If you want to be rewarded for dedication and loyalty, enjoy managing your own workload & being outdoors and have excellent people skills then we want to hear from you.

Pay rate for this role is £14.72 per hour, this is a temporary role for a minimum of 5 months.

You will:

• Drive and operate a range of waste collection vehicles using safe, efficient techniques in line with client requirements.
• Assist in delivering an effective and efficient waste collection and disposal service across locations in the York district while following health and safety requirements.
• Ensure the safety of the crew, yourself, and members of the public.Work as part of a team with waste loaders and help with loading duties when required.

You will need:

• Driver CPC Qualification.
• Full Category C Driving Licence.
• Class 2 Driving Licence.
• A Digital Tachograph Card.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort.

Previous experience with waste or recycling would be an advantage although the client will offer in-house, on the job training and instruction on the various vehicles they operate in their fleet, so your experience as a driver will be utilised and your skills and knowledge base will increase.
