Welcome to Be More Monty Dog Training:

Hi, I'm Imogen, the founder and owner of Be More Monty Dog Training.

Working with animals (particularly dogs) had always been a dream of mine, with me initially wanting to become a vet. Enter Monty: a working-line F1 labradoodle puppy. He lives to work, loves to learn, and has an obsession with anything vaguely resembling a ball. His eagerness to please is second to none, and he brings passion and purpose to everything he does. From the moment he bounced into my life, it became clear - dogs were my thing, and training felt instinctive. I became hooked.

Monty has taught me more than I ever thought possible. Once an excitement-reactive pup, he’s come such a long way - and I couldn’t be prouder. These days, he takes his role as head stooge dog very seriously, supporting 1:1 sessions, day trains, and our group and urban classes with a calm confidence (and the occasional dramatic sigh). Monty’s personality is larger than life. He’s endlessly sociable, endlessly silly, and always the first to squeeze himself into the tiniest, most ridiculous spaces just to make you laugh.

Alongside my own challenges, Monty and I faced the ups and downs of excitement reactivity. The journey was intense, emotional, and incredibly rewarding - and through it all, the idea for Be More Monty Dog Training took root and grew.

Now, that name stands for everything I believe in:

• Work that’s professional, passionate, with just the right amount of fun.

What started as a personal journey has grown into a passion-fuelled mission - to help dogs and their humans build calmer, more connected, and more compassionate relationships through balanced training. Monty isn’t just my dog. He’s the heart and soul of this journey - and a daily reminder to Be More Monty.
